About Tessted Therapy
Tessted Therapy is a boutique massage therapy practice in Alexandria, founded on the belief that great bodywork extends beyond the treatment table.
We believe massage should do more than make someone feel better for an hour. We combine hands-on therapy, education and a deeper understanding of the body to help clients with pain relief, relaxation, mobility, injury management and recovery. Then we give them practical strategies to support their wellbeing between appointments.
We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced subcontract massage therapist who shares this philosophy. For the right person, we're flexible on hours and how the role is shaped.
The role
You'll have a diverse skill set and the confidence to tailor each treatment to the client in front of you. You'll bring a strong understanding of anatomy and body mechanics, excellent hands-on technique, and a real interest in helping clients understand and care for their bodies.
You'll work autonomously and manage your own clients, as part of a collaborative team that values high-quality treatment, client education and a personalised approach. Our website and booking system are in place, and Tessted Therapy leads the marketing, with the team supporting where they can.
Key treatment skills
Core skills
- Remedial massage: assessment-led treatment for muscular tension, pain, dysfunction and injury management
- Deep tissue massage: therapeutic full-body treatment targeting deeper layers of muscle and fascia
- Sports and recovery massage
- Lymphatic drainage: gentle, rhythmic techniques to support lymphatic flow and circulation. Not trained in it yet? If you're keen to learn, we'd love to hear from you.
Communication: Strong spoken and written English is essential, as the role involves client assessments, explaining treatment and homecare, and keeping clinical notes.
Also valuable
- Pregnancy massage: safe, nurturing treatment tailored to the changing needs of pregnant clients
- Facial massage: face, jaw,
neck and scalp techniques with relaxation and therapeutic advantages
- Relaxation and therapeutic massage
- Mobility and movement-focused treatment
Qualifications or experience in dry needling, cupping, myofascial techniques or other complementary modalities are highly regarded.
