Our client is a growing Sydney CBD commercial law firm looking for commercial and franchising practitioners at Partner or Special Counsel level who want a stronger platform to grow their practice. It suits an established Partner looking for better support and economics, a Special Counsel with a transportable practice, or a senior practitioner ready to lead. Boutique principals and sole practitioners considering a merger or succession are also welcome to make contact.

About the role:
You'll lead and grow a commercial and franchising practice for franchisors, franchisees and commercial clients.

• Advising on franchise systems, franchise agreements and disclosure documents
• Guiding clients on compliance with the Franchising Code
• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including supply, distribution and services agreements
• Advising on business sales and commercial arrangements
• Building a team and winning new work alongside the firm's other practice groups





What you'll bring:
• 8+ years' post-admission experience in commercial and franchising law
• A portable practice or established client following that covers your remuneration (essential)
• Admission in Australia and an unrestricted NSW practising certificate
• A track record of business development and long-term client relationships
• The leadership ability to build and mentor a team
• An entrepreneurial approach and the ambition to grow your practice
