Our client is a boutique family law practice in the Sydney CBD that operates entirely on referral. There is no advertising and no chasing industry awards, just a reputation built over decades on quality outcomes for clients with complex financial circumstances. Many of the matters involve property portfolios in the hundreds of millions.

They are looking for a Family Lawyer with 2-5 years' PAE. A commercial background is highly valued, as much of the work turns on corporate structures, trusts and complex financials.

About the Team:

The team is deliberately small: a senior partner (Doyles Guided), three solicitors at different experience levels, a paralegal and an experienced legal secretary. There is no red tape. Everyone is rewarded on individual merit, and the partner is genuinely invested in the development and wellbeing of each team member.

Features of the prospect:

• Guide salary range: $90,000-$150,000, depending on experience
• Complex property matters involving corporate trust structures, superannuation and estates well in excess of $10 million, the kind of work you rarely see outside a national firm, in a boutique without the bureaucracy
• Admin-heavy tasks (indexing disclosure, briefs, client intake, billing) handled by the paralegal and legal secretary
• Direct carriage of your own files from day one, with genuine access to and mentorship from a highly experienced senior partner who runs an open-door practice
• Individual performance bonus, LEAP software and a culture that actively manages workload to prevent burnout

The Position

You will carry your own files from the outset, with responsibility matched to your experience. The caseload spans complex financial property matters through to straightforward consent orders and contested parenting matters. Day to day you will be:
• Drafting Applications for Consent Orders, initiating documents, affidavits and covering letters




• Preparing briefs to counsel (including Senior Counsel for substantive hearings) and mediation position papers
• Drafting complex property advices, including matters involving corporate trust structures and superannuation
• Appearing at directions and procedural hearings, and briefing counsel for substantive interim and final hearings
• Liaising with forensic accountants and specialist tax lawyers on complex financial issues
• Working in LEAP for document management and time recording

About You

• 2-5 years' PAE with a genuine interest in family law property and financial work
• A commercial background (commercial, corporate or commercial litigation experience) is highly regarded
• Comfortable taking carriage of files and working both independently and collaboratively
• Based in, or able to work from, the Sydney CBD
