What Will You Earn?

You'll be paid throughout your training and practical experience:

- Classroom training: $32.18 per hour + superannuation.
- Workplace training shifts: $44.90 per hour + superannuation.
- Qualified Casual Driver Assistant: Rates may exceed $70 per hour, including applicable penalties, plus superannuation.

This is a casual position. Shifts and hours depend on operational requirements, and ongoing hours are not guaranteed.
What Does a Locomotive Driver Assistant Do?





You'll work alongside qualified Locomotive Drivers, helping to keep Australia's freight moving safely and efficiently.

Once trained and authorised, your duties may include:

- Preparing trains and completing safety checks.
- Assisting with train movements, shunting and yard operations.
- Communicating with train crew and Network Control.
- Following rail safeworking rules and operational procedures.
- Using digital systems and completing operational records.

You'll complete structured classroom and practical training, supervised operational experience and client Verification of Competency before progressing into qualified duties.

Could This Be You?

You don't need a background in rail. We're looking for people who are reliable, safety conscious, motivated and ready for a new challenge.

To be considered, you'll need to:

- Have unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Hold a current unrestricted Australian Class C driver licence or higher.
- Be able to meet Category 1 Rail Safety Worker medical requirements.
- Be willing to complete a National Police Check and drug and alcohol testing.
- Hold HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or be willing to obtain it.
- Have basic computer, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Be available for rotating casual shifts, including days, nights,



weekends and public holidays.
- Be able to reliably attend training and work at Enfield.
- Be available to commence paid training in late February 2027.
