We're partnering with a leading South Australian utility to find an experienced Operational Readiness Engineer to support a portfolio of major capital projects. This is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between project delivery and long-term operations, ensuring mechanical assets are reliable, maintainable, and ready to perform from day one.

The Chance

Working within a specialist Reliability Engineering function, you'll play a key role in preparing newly constructed assets for operational handover. From maintenance strategies and reliability frameworks to asset data and lifecycle planning, you'll help ensure infrastructure delivers value long after commissioning is complete.

This is not a traditional maintenance role. It's an opportunity to influence asset performance before the assets enter service.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading operational readiness activities across major capital projects
- Developing maintenance and reliability strategies for new mechanical assets
- Establishing asset management and maintenance frameworks within Maximo
- Applying reliability engineering methodologies to optimise asset performance
- Supporting predictive, condition-based and smart maintenance initiatives




- Reviewing maintenance standards, procedures and lifecycle strategies
- Partnering with project managers, engineering teams and operational stakeholders
- Driving asset availability, maintainability and long-term reliability outcomes

About You

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who understands what good operational readiness looks like in asset-intensive environments.

- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong reliability, maintenance or asset management experience
- Experience within water, utilities, mining, energy or heavy industry
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and maintenance best practice
- Exposure to CMMS platforms such as Maximo
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project collaboration skills
- Postgraduate qualifications in Reliability Engineering will be highly regarded
