About you and this position
The Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aquatic programs including Learn To Swim, Squads, and extern Swim Programs, and ensures all communications are professionally delivered in accordance with Council’s Customer Service Charter. The role is responsible for implementing and directing programs in accordance with the AUSTSWIM Agreement, the Royal Life Saving SA Guidelines for Safe Swimming Pool Operation, the SA Swimming Pools Code of Practice, and the Watch Around Water Program, and ensures all aquatic programs are delivered at the highest standard possible with strong focus in internal and external Swim Programs.



The Team Leader maintains strong communications with external swim schools and hirers, including DECS and Royal Life Saving SA.

In addition, the Team Leader provides leadership, direction and skills training to aquatic programs staff including Supervisors and Instructors.

As a successful candidate, you will have:

Essential

- Demonstrated people management experience
- Extensive experience and achievement in the leisure industry, particularly within a Learn To Swim workplace
- Demonstrated operation and implementation of the GSPO, Watch Around Water program, and other industry guidelines
- Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, or equivalent
- Current Apply First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Child Safe Environments Certificate or willingness to obtain one
- Current/valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one

Desirable

- Proven experience in the day-to-day operation of a large aquatic leisure centre
- Current Pool Lifeguard certificate
- Broad understanding of local government and Council’s structure, policies, functions and activities
