About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Mock Orange. Either a full-time or part-time position is available for the right candidate. The cafe is based in the lovely suburb of Lake Albert in Wagga Wagga NSW. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence, consistency and pace. The shifts are daytime and the roster is permanent.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications:

- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and sanitation in the kitchen at all times

- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and meet quality standards before service

- Manage and Organise workstations for efficient kitchen operations, including the sink lol

- Follow portion control guidelines and cost management procedures

- Work collaboratively with the broader kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak times

- Respond promptly to special dietary requirements and guest requests

- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to management

- Support the development of new menu items and participate in recipe testing

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen setting

- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food, cleanliness and safety standards





- Great organisational and time management skills in order to cope with peak periods

- Ability to work well as part of a team with good communication skills

- Flexibility to work weekends

- Willingness to follow instructions and learn as required

- Must have a positive can-do attitude
