Role Description The Accountant role at Auz Taxation is a full time, on-site position based in Mount Waverley, VIC. The Accountant will prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and BAS statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. Daily responsibilities include reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate ledgers, processing invoices and expenses, and assisting with month-end and year-end reporting. The role involves regular communication with clients to gather information, clarify queries, and provide guidance on tax and compliance matters. The Accountant will also support internal process improvements, work with accounting software,



and collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications
Strong technical accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Knowledge of Australian taxation, including individual and business tax returns, BAS, GST, and other compliance requirements.
Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar), and solid Microsoft Excel skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in all financial work.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and tax concepts to clients and colleagues.
Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team in office.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress toward or completion of CA/CPA is an advantage.
Previous experience in public practice or tax accounting is highly beneficial, especially in a small to mid-sized firm environment.
