We’re looking for a Support Worker to provide 1:1 support in a SIL workplace, helping people build confidence, learn recent skills and enjoy a day doing the things they love.

As a Support Worker with Kanda, you’ll help people with disability live life on their own terms, make their own choices and feel confident in their abilities. One day you might be out in the community trying something new. The next, you might be helping with everyday tasks at home, having a good chat or supporting someone towards a personal goal.

No two people are the same, and no two days need to be either.

About the role
You’ll support participants in a SIL home, helping to keep it safe, structured and therapeutic. Your day-to-day will include:
Provide support in a SIL home for a participant with complex needs
Positive behaviour support, including behaviours of concern
Medication administration
Safe use of hoists and mobility equipment
Support with PEG feeding and dysphagia management (training provided)





You will ideally have:
Experience supporting people with complex needs, behaviours of concern, autism, psychosocial disability and acquired brain injury (ABI)
Experience with medication administration
Manual handling experience, including hoists and mobility equipment
Strong communication skills and transparent spoken English
A willingness to learn PEG feeding and dysphagia management

Essential requirements
Current Australian driver's licence (minimum P2).
Current Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain the required checks.
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these.
Current Australian working rights.
