Role Description This in office role is based in Perth, WA and involves supporting utility locating operations through safe and efficient vacuum excavation. Day-to-day tasks include operating vacuum excavation trucks and equipment to expose underground services, assisting utility locators with site set-up, mark-outs, and verification of underground assets, and following all safety procedures and traffic management requirements. The role also involves basic equipment checks, housekeeping around work areas, completing job-related documentation, and communicating clearly with supervisors, team members, and site representatives.



The Vacuum Excavation Operator / Utility Locating Offsider works primarily outdoors in varying conditions and is expected to adhere to company policies and industry regulations at all times.

Qualifications
Experience operating vacuum excavation or similar plant and equipment, with a solid focus on safe work practices.
Understanding of underground utility locating processes and an interest in learning more about asset identification and protection.
Current valid driver’s licence (HR or higher licence highly regarded) and a good driving record.
Construction White Card and the ability to meet site access requirements (e.g., pre-employment medicals or drug and alcohol screening as required).
Ability to work safely in outdoor environments, including manual handling, working near traffic, and following PPE and safety protocols.
Good communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working within small site-based teams.
Previous experience in civil construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects is advantageous but not essential.
Willingness to undertake training and obtain additional tickets or certifications relevant to utility locating and vacuum excavation
