The College is situated in the central business district of Cairns, one block from the Cairns Esplanade.
St Monica's is the oldest school in the region, with rich heritage and Mercy traditions.

About the Role
The Science Lab Assistant role is to assist the Science Lab Technician to prepare & deliver chemicals and equipment to classes for practical lessons in the Science Department.




Under guidance and supervision this role involves collating experiment orders from teachers; gathering equipment & supplies related to that order; occasionally assisting in classroom practical lessons as required; return and clean-up of glassware and equipment after practical lessons are completed.
Qualities recommended for this position are:
willingness to work in a team,
an understanding of the requirement to adhere to the time frame relevant to a school situation (i.e. lesson times etc),
attention to detail and
an understanding of the requirement to adhere to relevant safety guidelines regarding the preparation and use of Chemicals and equipment.
Some Science experience is preferred.
