This role suits a commercially minded energy markets professional who wants real ownership of client outcomes, direct access to leadership, and a team where commercial, technical, and delivery people work together.
It is a position with explicit scope to help build the commercial advisory offering as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities

Provide market insight and strategy covering NEM dynamics, price outlooks, REC and LGC markets, and regulatory change
Deliver techno-commercial due diligence and transaction support for investors, lenders, and acquirers
Advise on power procurement and energy strategy for large energy users, including data centre developers
Present clear, practical recommendations to senior stakeholders, boards, and investment committees
Mentor junior consultants and help shape commercial advisory methodologies, tools, and thought leadership
Find and grow client relationships to support business development and repeat work
Key Requirements
Significant experience in electricity markets, gained in commercial advisory, origination, trading, or wholesale transactions
Proven track record structuring or advising on PPAs, offtake agreements, or wholesale energy contracts
Strong understanding of NEM structure, AEMO market operations, and the regulatory framework
Strong commercial and financial modelling skills, with experience in transaction analysis and project valuation
Sound knowledge of renewable generation and BESS revenue stacks, including energy arbitrage, FCAS,

and contracting approaches
Familiarity with REC and LGC markets and the related compliance requirements
Confident client manager who builds trust quickly and can influence senior decision-makers
Excellent communicator who can turn complex market dynamics into clear, commercial advice
Structured thinker who is comfortable with ambiguity and tight deadlines
Collaborative working style, with the ability to work across technical, commercial, and delivery teams
Highly regarded:
A background in management consulting, energy advisory, or professional services
Hands-on trading, portfolio management, or origination experience
Exposure to project finance, M&A;, or capital raising in the energy sector

Advise on nationally significant solar, BESS, data centre, and network projects that are shaping Australia's energy future
Variety:
Work with leading developers, top-tier contractors, investment funds, and utilities, across the full project lifecycle

Managers who listen, invest in their people, and support you as an individual
Flexibility:
Hybrid working from Sydney or Melbourne offices, with a real focus on work-life balance
