About the Role Our Federal Government client is seeking an EL1 Software Engineer (SAP S/4HANA).
This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Canberra, with hybrid working arrangements available.
As the selected candidate, you will:Lead the design, development, deployment and support of enterprise solutions using SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, UI5, Angular and Node.jsDrive software development, systems integration, release management and testing activities across complex ICT programsProvide technical leadership, code quality oversight and software engineering best practicesDesign and implement scalable, secure and maintainable solutions aligned with government standardsLead software releases, production deployments and ongoing support activitiesCollaborate with stakeholders, technical teams and service providers to deliver business outcomesReview technical requirements and provide solution architecture recommendationsMentor and lead development teams while promoting a high-performance cultureTo be successful in this role you should have:



Must-have Technical SkillsStrong experience with SAP S/4HANADevelopment experience using ABAPFront-end development experience with SAP UI5Modern web application development using AngularBack-end development experience using Node.jsExperience delivering complex systems integration and software development projectsExperience leading software design, build, testing and deployment activitiesStrong understanding of software engineering methodologies, release management and configuration managementExperience providing technical leadership within large-scale enterprise or government environmentsEssential CriteriaSoftware development expertise aligned with SFIA Level 5Experience monitoring and evaluating emerging technologies and architectural trendsStrong knowledge of software design, systems design and integration practicesDemonstrated experience with release and deployment managementExperience implementing software configuration and development standardsStrong testing experience including test planning, execution and automation frameworksAbility to provide specialist technical advice and recommendationsExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skillsIt is desirable if you have:Previous Federal Government experience or experience within a large-scale enterprise environmentExperience with configuration management processes and toolsKnowledge of government security,
