Position Purpose

The Personal Care Assistant provides direct care and support to individuals who need help with personal care and daily living activities, helping them maintain their dignity, independence, safety, and overall wellbeing. The role focuses on delivering compassionate, person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans, organisational policies, and relevant healthcare standards. The position supports individuals through personal hygiene assistance, showering, dressing, grooming, mobility support, meal assistance, and daily living activities. The Personal Care Assistant also monitors clients' health and wellbeing, reports changes in their condition,



and works collaboratively with healthcare professionals and other support staff to ensure quality care delivery and promote individuals' independence and quality of life

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Assisting patients with their personal care needs such as showering, dressing and eating
- Assisting patients with their mobility and communication needs
- Participating in planning the care of individuals
- Following therapy plans such as interventions to assist those with dementia and behavioral problems
- Observing and reporting changes in patients' condition, and reporting complaints about care
- Assisting clients with prescribed rehabilitation exercises and medication support
- Providing direct support and assistance to therapists

Qualifications and Experience

- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent).
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support, Disability Support or a related healthcare qualification is desirable.
- Relevant overseas healthcare or nursing qualifications may also be considered, subject to recognition requirements.
- Relevant at least one year of work experience in aged care, disability support, residential care or community healthcare.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Manual Handling and Infection Control training.
- Current National Police Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, where applicable.
- Working with Children Check, where required by the role

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per annum + Superannuation
