Your recent role
As a Painter, you will be responsible for completing a variety of painting and maintenance works across occupied and vacant properties. This role will involve everything from minor touch-ups and defect repairs through to full internal and external repaints.
Working independently and as part of a team, you will ensure all projects are completed to a high standard while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Surface preparation including sanding, scraping, patching and filling
- Completing paint touch-ups, maintenance painting and defect rectification works
- Internal and external painting of residential, commercial and government facilities
- Application of paints, primers, sealers and protective coatings
- Repairing minor plasterboard and wall defects prior to painting
- Colour matching and blending to existing finishes
- Masking,
covering and protecting surrounding surfaces and furnishings
- Cleaning and preparing worksites before and after painting activities
- Using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment
- Working from maintenance schedules and job specifications
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues where required
- Maintaining tools, equipment and materials in good working order
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and quality standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Trade qualification in Painting and Decorating (preferred)
- Previous experience in maintenance painting and repaint work
- Experience with both internal and external painting projects
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Knowledge of safe work practices and site safety requirements
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- White Card (essential)
- Reliable, punctual and professional presentation
