The Prospect
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to take ownership of a busy Melbourne distribution centre and lead a team of five to ten warehouse staff.

This is a practical, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being actively involved in daily warehouse operations while driving team performance, improving processes and ensuring everything runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, motivate and manage a team of warehouse staff.
- Be actively involved in day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Oversee receiving, picking, packing, dispatch and stock control.
- Manage workflow, rostering and labour requirements.
- Maintain high standards of order accuracy and inventory management.
- Coordinate incoming deliveries, freight and outbound dispatch.
- Monitor warehouse performance, productivity and operating costs.
- Ensure workplace health and safety standards are maintained.
- Identify and implement improvements to warehouse processes and efficiencies.
- Manage warehouse equipment, layout and consumables.

About You
You are a hands-on leader who leads by example,



enjoys being on the warehouse floor and takes pride in running an organised and efficient operation.

You will ideally have:

- At least five years' experience managing a warehouse or distribution centre.
- Proven experience leading and developing a small warehouse team.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory and dispatch.
- Experience with WMS or ERP inventory systems.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.

Desirable: Current forklift licence (LF) and experience with EDI, RFID or imported stock.
