Seeking Data Architects, Data Engineers for Sydney hybrid contracts. Australian Citizen Baseline Clearance.

Your new companyA major Australian government transformation programme is undertaking large-scale registry modernisation, data governance, and legacy platform migration initiatives. The program focuses on data quality, Director ID linking, customer management, reconciliation, and modern data platform capabilities to support critical business services. Multiple opportunities are available across Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and DataOps disciplines.
Your new roleAs a Data Architect, Data Engineer/Data Analyst, or Data Enabler (DataOps Engineer), you will play a key role in designing, migrating, governing, and enabling enterprise-scale data solutions. Responsibilities may include defining target-state architectures, building migration and reconciliation frameworks, developing ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing Databricks and Spark solutions, automating testing and deployment processes, and establishing robust monitoring and data quality controls. You will work closely with stakeholders to modernise legacy data environments and support sustainable delivery outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed

- Australian Citizenship and an active Baseline Clearance.




- Strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Modelling
- Data Migration, Data Governance, Lineage and Reconciliation
- SQL, ETL/ELT, Data Engineering and Analytics
- DataOps, CI/CD, Automation and Observability

- Experience with Databricks, Spark, Python, Lakehouse Architecture, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to legacy systems, mainframe/ADABAS environments, source-to-target mapping, and data quality frameworks will be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
