Our client is a not-for-profit aged care provider with a large residential facility in Newcastle, built on strong values and a genuine commitment to the older community.
They’re looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to lead their night team on a permanent part-time basis. Someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, cares deeply about residents and their families, and brings calm, structured, confident leadership to every shift. About the role
- Work 3 night shifts across a fortnightly rolling roster, with scope to grow if you have the capacity
- Provide overnight clinical leadership across the facility, guiding and supporting a mixed team of AINs, care workers and support staff with varying levels of experience
- Deliver and oversee high quality, person-centred care, including dementia care, pain management, palliative and end-of-life-care and holistic aged care delivery
- Complete clinical assessments, manage medications and escalate changes in resident condition promptly
- Maintain accurate, thorough clinical documentation and clear handovers
- Support clinical governance and oversight, including incident reporting, risk management and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Communicate with residents, families, medical or allied health professionals and other stakeholders,
advocating for each resident’s needs and wishes
Who we’re looking for
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong experience working in residential aged care
- Proven leadership skills and the confidence to guide a team
- Previous night shift experience, with solid decision-making skills
- Sound clinical knowledge across dementia, pain management and palliative care
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- A solid understanding of clinical governance and quality frameworks in aged care
- Strong personal values that align with a not-for-profit, person-centred model of care
- Empathy, patience and a genuine drive to advocate for older Australians and their families
