Are you an experienced hospitality couple with commercial kitchen experience, barista skills and a passion for customer service?

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Cafe Assistants / All Rounder Couple to join a busy café and local store in Remote Coastal Northern Territory. This is a fantastic opportunity for two adaptable hospitality professionals who enjoy working together, can turn their hands to a variety of duties and are comfortable living and working in a remote community.

This is a varied, hands-on opportunity combining café service, food preparation, basic cooking, coffee making, customer interaction, stock handling and general store duties. Both applicants will need to be flexible, demonstrate initiative and be happy to assist wherever needed to keep daily operations running smoothly.

The welcoming community offers local shops, two supermarkets, takeaway outlets, a police station, sporting facilities and a public swimming pool, providing the essentials for comfortable remote living.

- Casual positions for a couple
- $35.56 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- $42.67 per hour (Saturday)
- $42.67 per hour (Sunday)
- Regular overtime undertaken - overtime rates apply
- Free accommodation (electricity payable by employees – approximately $40 per week)
- Return travel assistance from Darwin

Your Responsibilities

Working together as part of the team, duties will include:





- Assisting with general kitchen hand duties
- Preparing food and assisting with basic cooking
- Serving customers in the café with friendly, efficient service
- Preparing coffee and other beverages
- Operating the cash register and processing customer transactions
- Receiving, unloading and unpacking stock deliveries
- Rotating stock and replenishing cold rooms and display fridges
- Maintaining clean and organised kitchen, café and store areas
- Delivering outstanding customer service across both the café and store
- Assisting with other general duties as required

About You

To be successful, the couple will ideally offer a combination of the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Catering experience (highly regarded)
- Barista experience and confidence preparing coffees
- A current Food Safety Certificate
- A Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- The ability to multitask and work independently
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
- Flexibility to share responsibilities and work as part of a team
- The ability to live and work in a remote community for a minimum of six months

- Telstra is the only mobile phone network available
- Minimum six-month commitment required
- Accessible by unsealed road from Darwin during the dry season
- Return travel assistance provided from Darwin
