About the role
As a Lead Consultant in Production, Carbon & Sustainability, you will bring depth in livestock, dairy and agricultural systems and carbon accounting to drive and deliver new projects within a growing climate reporting and sustainability pipeline. Working with the Principal, you will translate that expertise into practical advice for clients.
You will support or lead client engagements from project kick-off and materiality assessment through to GHG inventories and audit-ready climate statements, and deliver LCA and carbon work for livestock and cropping sectors.
Take a lead role in key project activities, including scoping, researching, planning, evaluating and delivery of innovative projects that help clients understand their supply chain environmental impacts, set meaningful sustainability targets and reduce environmental impacts over the short, medium and long term.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Principal to grow the client portfolio: win proposals, shape and deliver work with agribusinesses, processors, levy bodies and supply-chain partners, and own the results. Contribute to funded research proposals alongside the Principal and Chief Scientist.
- Deliver climate-related financial disclosure/AASB S2 reporting, supporting or leading engagements end-to-end, from governance and materiality assessments to GHG inventories and climate statements.
- Bring deep livestock production systems expertise, including Scope 1 and 3 boundaries and factors, mitigation pathways and costed abatement (MAC) options, to help clients move from reporting to on-farm action.
- Deliver LCA, carbon footprints and GHG accounting for beef, sheep and dairy clients using SimaPro software and recognised standards.
- Ensure deliverables are audit-ready and provide technical review and sign-off for defined categories of work where delegated.
- Be a named contact for key clients, contribute to proposals and pricing,
and help grow repeat work with the Principal.
- As Project Manager, lead other consultants in the work and mentor Graduate Consultants and Analysts. Follow Integrity Ag processes for project management and quality assurance, delivering technical work within timeline, budget and quality requirements.
- Work with analysts to deliver carbon accounts, carbon footprints and emission reduction plans, and collaborate with the data analytics team to interpret results.
- Engage in and support extension activities relating to projects requiring strategic advice and presenting project findings and workshops to industry, producer and other stakeholder groups.
- Work with clients to achieve meaningful practice change and reduce net emissions across both large businesses and smaller supplier businesses.
- Actively represent Integrity Ag’s values of Integrity, Innovation and Care, in all that you do.
About you
ESSENTIAL
- A degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Animal Science or a related field. A postgraduate qualification and/or a track record in GHG accounting or livestock sustainability is highly regarded.
- Capability in climate-related financial disclosure, sustainability reporting or audit-ready carbon accounting, including familiarity with AASB S2/IFRS S2 or a solid adjacent field (e.g. corporate sustainability reporting, audit or assurance, CA or CPA with a sustainability specialisation, GRI or TCFD reporting).
- Demonstrated experience delivering carbon and sustainability work in an agri-environmental, ACCU or consulting context.
- Sound scientific judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity, with the confidence to sign off technical work and present findings to boards, levy bodies and producers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, advanced Excel modelling, project planning software such as ProjectWorks, and modelling tools such as SimaPro or sector models.
- You enjoy liaising with farming clients (from the corporate office to producers on-farm) to solve real-world problems.
- You see work through to completion, on time and to a high standard, including audit-ready documents.
- You are reliable: you support the Principal and the team and pitch in where needed to get a deliverable over the line.
- You have a proven ability to be self-sufficient, to prioritise important tasks and meet deadlines.
- You have a can-do attitude, take a proactive approach to your work, and are focused on finding solutions.
