About the role

We are seeking a full-time Bakers Assistant to join our team at our Fyshwick location. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a professional bakery environment. You will work alongside our experienced bakers, learning the craft of bread and pastry production whilst contributing to the daily operations of our busy bakery. This role is integral to ensuring we maintain our reputation for quality and consistency in everything we bake.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting in the preparation and mixing of dough and batter using both manual and mechanical equipment

- Learning and following established recipes and baking procedures to maintain product quality and consistency

- Shaping, moulding and preparing dough for proofing and baking

- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection

- Assisting with the loading and unloading of ovens and baking equipment

- Maintaining a clean and hygienic working setting, including cleaning equipment and workstations

- Assisting with product decoration, finishing and packaging

- Supporting the team with stock rotation and inventory management





- Learning about food safety and hygiene standards, and adhering to all relevant regulations

What we're looking for

- A keen interest in baking and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness

- Reliability and punctuality.

- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior bakers

- Basic numeracy skills for following recipes and measurements

- A genuine passion for fresh, quality baked goods

- Prior experience in a bakery or food production environment is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate

- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain it is desirable
