Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer – Civil Structures (Dams & Bridgeworks)

Location: Brisbane, QLD (Northside)

A well-established Queensland civil contractor is growing its delivery team and is looking for Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to join the team.

This is a self-performing business. We build our own work with our own crews, which means you’ll be close to the action, close to decision-makers, and accountable for real outcomes. If you’re tired of the layers and distance of a Tier 1, or of being on the consulting side watching others build, this one’s for you.

The work
Our projects are structures-focused: concreting, dams, bridgeworks and related civil structures. This is not a roadworks role.

What you’ll be doing

- Planning and delivering formwork, reinforcement and concrete (FRP) packages on structures projects
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers, procurement and site-based crews alongside our self-perform teams
- Running programme, cost tracking, variations, EOTs and RFIs
- Driving QA/ITPs, safety systems and compliance on site
- Working closely with the Project Manager and site leadership to deliver safely,



on time and on budget
- Senior PE: mentoring junior engineers and taking ownership of larger work packages

About you

- Civil engineering degree (or equivalent) with civil construction experience on the contractor side
- Hands-on, self-performing experience, ideally in FRP, concrete or structures
- Background with a Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor (we’re not looking for Tier 1 or consulting-only backgrounds)
- Solid commercial awareness: costs, variations, subcontract management
- Solid understanding of QA, safety and site compliance
- Confident communicator who’s comfortable on site

Highly regarded

- Dams, bridgeworks or major structures experience
- Windfarm or renewable energy civil experience (a bonus, not a requirement)
