Are you a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher who believes in the power of play, meaningful relationships and high-quality early childhood education?

Derby Street Children's Centre (DSCC) is seeking an experienced, inspiring and motivated 3-year-old Kindergarten Teacher to lead our funded kindergarten program and support children to develop their competence, confidence, character and connection.

Located in Pascoe Vale, DSCC is a community-based, not-for-profit early childhood education and care service providing high-quality education and care for children aged 3 months to 6 years.

About the role

As our Kindergarten Teacher, you will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of our kindergarten program, creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences that inspire children's curiosity, creativity and development.

Working collaboratively with a supportive team of educators, you will:

- Lead and deliver a high-quality, engaging kindergarten program aligned with the EYLF V2.0 and VEYLDF.

- Create inclusive, stimulating learning environments that recognise and celebrate each child's individual strengths, interests, culture and abilities.

- Lead the program planning cycle, including observations, documentation, reflection and assessment of children's learning.

- Build positive,



respectful and collaborative partnerships with families, supporting their involvement in their child's learning and development.

- Provide pedagogical leadership and guidance to educators within the kindergarten room.

- Support children's wellbeing, agency, independence and social development.

- Promote a strong culture of child safety, inclusion and continuous improvement.

- Contribute positively to the wider Centre community and uphold the values and philosophy of DSCC.

About you

We are looking for an experienced teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and brings warmth, professionalism and enthusiasm to their work.

You will demonstrate:

- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing.

- Robust knowledge of the EYLF V2.0, VEYLDF, National Quality Standard and relevant regulatory requirements.

- The ability to develop and deliver an engaging, child-centred educational program.

- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.

- The ability to build meaningful relationships with children, families and colleagues.

- Confidence in providing leadership and working collaboratively within a team.

- A commitment to inclusion, cultural safety and respectful practice.

- Strong organisational, documentation and reflective practice skills.





Essential qualifications and requirements

- Minimum of three years experience leading a Kindergarten Program

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education ACECQA-approved early childhood teaching qualification.

- Current Full Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration.

- Current approved First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management and Asthma Management training.

- Sound knowledge of child protection requirements and mandatory reporting obligations.

- Commitment to upholding the Victorian Child Safe Standards and DSCC's child safety policies and procedures.
