IT Services Administrator - ERSES

- Tenure: Continuing, Full-time
- Commencement: As soon as can be negotiated with successful applicant
- Location: This is a national role based in the NSW, St Gabriel's School

ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Services Administrator (St Gabriel's School) is the dedicated, on-site technology support and administration role for St Gabriel's School. The role ensures that technology at St Gabriel's is reliable, secure, accessible and responsive to the needs of students, staff and families, and that IT services are delivered in a sustainable and timely manner, in line with EREAFSL standards, policies and procedures. Success in the role depends on understanding the School community, keeping core systems and devices working well, and helping staff and students use technology safely and effectively, including the assistive and accessibility technologies that support student communication, learning and participation.

The role supports and implements strategies so that the School continues to remain authentic to the vision of a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, and works within the School's practices, routines and expectations as a member of the St Gabriel's staff community. It combines hands-on service desk and technical support with the administration of St Gabriel's technology platforms, devices and local infrastructure, under the standards and direction of the National IT team. National IT leads cybersecurity strategy and infrastructure architecture; this role maintains approved local controls, implements agreed actions and escalates risks and issues as required.

The IT Services Administrator (St Gabriel's School) reports to the IT Services Delivery Manager and is a member of the EREAFSL National IT team. Consistent with St Gabriel's School practice, in which all positions ultimately report to the Principal, the role also has a dotted reporting line to the Principal of St Gabriel's School for day-to-day operations and school priorities. The role works closely with the Special Schools IT Operations Lead, who coordinates ERSES technology work and escalations across St Edmund's College and St Gabriel's School.

The role is based at St Gabriel's School, Castle Hill. Occasional travel to St Edmund's College (Wahroonga), EREAFSL offices and other school sites may be required, for example for team meetings, training or backup support.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

- Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.

- Professionalism, integrity, discretion,

respect and ethical conduct in all interactions, including the confidential handling of staff and student information.

- Experience working in the K-12 education sector, including with school and student management systems, is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of, or experience supporting, assistive and accessibility technologies used in education or disability-support environments, with an understanding of the role technology can play in student communication, learning, accessibility and participation.

- Experience in special education, disability support or another environment involving complex accessibility requirements would be particularly well regarded.

- Appropriate qualifications and relevant professional experience:

- A vocational qualification, or degree, in information technology or a related discipline, or equivalent qualified experience, is required.

- Relevant Microsoft, Jamf, cybersecurity or IT service management (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certifications would be well regarded.

- Demonstrated capacity to be a reliable and authoritative organiser and positive change agent in IT services and practice.

- Sound knowledge of Microsoft technologies and operating systems, including Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS and iOS. Exposure to Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Jamf, PowerShell scripting, Fortinet and Aruba networking, and PaperCut print services would be well regarded.

- Demonstrated experience working within structured IT service management practices, including service delivery, escalation, problem resolution, change management and continuous service improvement.

- Organisational, time management and administrative capacity to fulfil the functions of the role, manage multiple tasks concurrently and support the IT Services Delivery Manager.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.

- Ability to develop collaboration, trust and confidence through listening, effective communication, and humility.
