About the role
FNQ Freight & Logistics is seeking a reliable and organised Forklift Operator/Freight Handler to support operations at our depot.
You’ll safely unload incoming trucks, check and mark off freight and reload freight onto the correct vehicles for delivery routes. You’ll also move trucks around the yard as required.
This role suits someone who combines confident forklift operation with attention to detail and takes pride in keeping freight accurate, organised and moving on time.
Key responsibilities
- Safely unload incoming freight using a forklift and appropriate handling equipment.
- Check freight, confirm quantities and delivery details.
- Sort and stage freight for the correct delivery routes.
- Reload delivery trucks in route order, ensuring freight is positioned and secured safely.
- Move and position trucks within the yard for loading and unloading.
- Communicate with drivers
- Maintain a clean, organised work area.
About you
- Hold a current forklift licence and have practical experience loading and unloading trucks.
- Hold a current truck licence appropriate for the vehicles being moved.
- Be confident handling varied freight safely and carefully.
- Have positive attention to detail when checking freight and completing paperwork.
- Follow manifests, delivery instructions, and loading requirements.
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work effectively with drivers and the depot team.
- Be able to carry out the physical requirements of the role.
