Work options: Hybrid

Help build our BI capability from scratch - hands-on, in a small team where your work has real impact.

About us

We are the most influential, independent business body in Victoria with over 100,000 members. Our members choose us because we’re trusted experts in workplace relations, international trade, workplace health, safety and wellbeing, and policy development. Our team of 200 people thrive on putting our members first in everything we do – from providing exceptional customer service to advocating for their interests to all levels of government. The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry works for the success of our members, business and Victoria.

About the role

This newly formed Data Analyst role offers the opportunity to shape how the Victorian Chamber uses data, as we invest in a business intelligence platform. You’ll explore data across the organisation to uncover patterns, challenge assumptions and turn complex findings into clear insights that help senior leaders understand what’s happening and why. Working across departments and alongside data engineers, you’ll go beyond producing reports to investigate business questions, strengthen confidence in reliable data and help teams use tools effectively and responsibly.

The role is full-time, but if it’s a strong match for your skills and you’re seeking part-time work, we strongly encourage you to apply and outline your preferred working arrangements in your cover letter.

About you

You’re curious, keen to be hands-on, proactive and commercially aware, with the ability to build strong relationships and turn imperfect organisational data into reliable, actionable insights. You’ll also bring:

- Strong analytical judgement: challenge assumptions, test data quality and distinguish evidence from interpretation.
- A tertiary qualification in data analytics, statistics, economics, business, information systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- Demonstrated ability to independently analyse complex or imperfect data, identify patterns and relationships, and translate findings into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Practical experience building Power BI dashboards and reports on Azure Data lake, both by hand and using AI, including data modelling, measures and effective visualisation.
- Experience with survey, customer, membership, marketing or behavioural data, including Qualtrics or similar platforms, is desirable.
- Robust written, verbal and visual communication skills to explain analysis clearly to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing requests, work across departments and deliver accurate work with limited supervision.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, governance and responsible access requirements.

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all. We welcome and encourage applications from First Nations people, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ and people from culturally diverse backgrounds. If you have accessibility requirements or require an adjustment to participate in our recruitment and selection process, please let us know in your application.

How to apply

If this sounds like you, please apply online under the Careers section of our website, www.victorianchamber.com.au/careers by COB Friday 13 November 2026. Address your application to Glenn Goodwin, Chief Technology Officer. Include a cover letter that responds to the Key Selection Criteria in the position description and answers the question: What is your favourite data visualisation? The position description is available in the Careers section of our website.

Please note that the successful applicant will be subject to a satisfactory police check as a pre-condition of employment. Applicants must be a permanent resident, with preference for citizenship due to government security requirements.
