About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to join our Logistics team based at Sydney Markets, Homebush West.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant, equipment and site infrastructure across our busy fresh produce warehouse operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Performing preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plant, equipment and site infrastructure
- Troubleshooting, fault finding, repairs and upgrades of mechanical, electrical and automated equipment
- Installing, testing and commissioning new or upgraded plant and equipment




- Assisting with machine setup and operational troubleshooting to minimise downtime
- Conducting routine inspections to identify wear, defects and opportunities for improvement
- Carrying out general facility maintenance, including building and infrastructure repairs
- Liaising with contractors and assisting with maintenance coordination activities
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and safety standards

Hours
This position is permanent part time, working Friday to Sunday, 6:00am to 2:00pm. Additional hours may be available during peak operational periods.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- At least 3 years' experience maintaining and repairing production machinery
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and schematics
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
- Previous experience within warehousing, FMCG, food manufacturing, fresh produce or industrial environments (preferred)
- A forklift licence (desirable)
