Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
Help Aboriginal people across the region explore their home ownership options and connect with the information and support they need to take the next step.
Reporting to the Project Manager, Home Ownership, you’ll deliver community events, support prospective home buyers and administer grants for the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO). You’ll also use program data and community feedback to understand who the program is reaching and where more support is needed.
What you’ll be doing
- Plan and deliver a 12-month calendar of regional events that supports the AHO’s annual target of 80 home ownership opportunities.
- Engage with communities, service providers and other stakeholders. Use digital tools where helpful, and connect prospective Aboriginal home buyers with relevant information, education and services.
- Administer the AHO Home Buyer Saver grants program, keeping accurate records and applying grant processes fairly and consistently.
- Finalise the Home Ownership Dashboard and maintain internal and external datasets to support program evaluation, reporting and outreach to people most in need of support.
- Prepare project updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers,
and support other regional and home ownership projects as directed.
- Build relationships with community partners and internal teams, use their feedback to improve program delivery and contribute to shared Closing the Gap outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- The ability to build trusted relationships and engage respectfully with Aboriginal communities and community organisations.
- Experience coordinating projects, events or community engagement activities.
- Robust attention to detail and confidence working with data, maintaining records and preparing reports.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience with grants administration is highly regarded.
