Project Manager – Commercial Construction | Darwin, NT

Grange Group is recruiting for a well-established commercial builder in Darwin. Our client is growing and urgently needs an experienced Project Manager to join its team.

About the role

You’ll run commercial construction projects worth between $500k and $30 million, from site establishment and early works through to completion and handover. Our client builds only commercial projects or private fit-outs, so you’ll be working on quality builds with a team that backs you.

Your responsibilities

- Managing projects from commencement through to completion

- Programming and keeping projects on schedule

- Procurement and managing subcontractors

- Cost control and financial reporting

- Contract administration

- Client liaison and relationship management

- Leading and coordinating site teams

- Overall project delivery: on time, on budget and to a high standard

Built from the ground up

Our client wants a Project Manager who has started on the tools and climbed the ladder. Ideally, you began as a labourer or tradesperson and worked your way up through leading hand, foreman, site manager and into project management.

This matters because you’ll truly understand what’s happening on site. You know how long a task really takes, what the crews are dealing with, and how to spot a problem before it costs time or money. You can talk to labourers,



trades and subbies in their own language and earn their respect, then sit down with the client and run the numbers.

About you

- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects

- Programming, financial and contract administration skills

- The ability to lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors

- Excellent communication and client management skills

- A proactive approach, able to work on your own and as part of a team

A trade or labouring background is strongly preferred. If you don’t have one, our client will still consider you if you can show a strong understanding of site operations and a solid track record of delivering commercial projects.
