About the role

Queensland Road Construction is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Asphalt or Seal Crew Members to join our dynamic team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the construction industry, specifically within plant and machinery operations. Based in Brisbane, you will be an integral part of our road construction projects, contributing to the development and maintenance of Queensland's infrastructure. This casual position offers flexibility whilst providing valuable experience in asphalt and seal coating operations.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and assisting with asphalt laying equipment and machinery on construction sites

- Preparing road surfaces and ensuring they meet required specifications before asphalt application

- Applying seal coat to road surfaces using appropriate equipment and techniques

- Compacting and finishing asphalt surfaces to ensure quality and durability

- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas and equipment

- Following all health and safety protocols and site-specific safety procedures

- Communicating effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution

- Monitoring material quality and alerting supervisors to any concerns or issues

- Assisting with equipment maintenance and reporting any mechanical problems

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as an Asphalt or Seal Crew Member in road construction

- Sound knowledge of asphalt laying or seal coating operations

- Familiarity with plant and machinery used in construction, particularly road surfacing equipment

- Current and valid driver's licence

- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions





- Strong commitment to health and safety practices on construction sites

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- Willingness to undertake further training and development as required
