Facilities, Safety & Emergency Management Coordinator

The Facilities, Safety & Emergency Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating facilities maintenance, property compliance, emergency management, safety audits, and incident reporting across McConaghy Group's shopping centre portfolio in Queensland and Recent South Wales. The role supports the consistent implementation of operational standards, maintenance programs, safety procedures, and emergency preparedness arrangements to protect people, property, and business operations. Working collaboratively with Centre Managers, contractors, tenants and Head Office, the Coordinator will monitor compliance, identify risks, coordinate corrective actions, and provide accurate reporting to support effective property and risk management.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance programs, property inspections, and contractor services across the portfolio
- Monitor property condition, asset presentation, maintenance requirements, and outstanding defects
- Conduct scheduled safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits across all six shopping centres
- Identify hazards, non-conformances, and operational risks, and maintain corrective action registers
- Coordinate the review, maintenance and implementation of Emergency Response Procedures and emergency management plans
- Assist with emergency drills, scenario exercises, training, and toolbox talks
- Coordinate the timely reporting,



recording and escalation of incidents, injuries, hazards, near misses, property damage, and public liability events
- Coordinate incident investigations, identify contributing factors and monitor corrective and preventative actions
- Liaise with Centre Managers, tenants, contractors, suppliers, and Head Office to resolve facilities and safety issues
- Prepare regular reports covering facilities maintenance, safety audit outcomes, incidents, emergency preparedness, compliance issues, and outstanding corrective actions

About you

- Experience in facilities management, property operations, WHS, risk management and emergency management or a similar coordination role
- Understanding of shopping centre operations, contractor management, and property maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to conduct inspections, identify risks, and coordinate corrective actions
- Experience with incident reporting, investigations, emergency procedures, and compliance documentation
- Strong organisational, communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently across multiple sites
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting or safety management systems
- Current driver licence and willingness to travel throughout QLD and NSW
- Have Fire Safety Advisor accreditations or willingness to obtain
