Weekend and evening availability essential, with shifts finishing at 7 pm.

Wide-ranging café, food production and catering work supporting a local cause.

Based primarily at our Main Toowoomba Hospital kitchen, you'll prepare hot food for café service and help produce sandwiches, wraps, salads and catering for our other outlets. This is a hands‑on cooking role. You'll need to be comfortable managing cooking and service independently, keeping your section organized and completing opening or closing duties.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and cooking food consistently, following recipes and portion sizes.

Supporting batch preparation, catering and packing food for other sites.

Maintaining food safety, allergen and cleanliness standards.

Completing daily checklists, temperature records and shift handovers.

Monitoring stock,



rotating ingredients and communicating what's needed.

Working cooperatively with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff.

About you

Experience as a Cook or Chef in a café, catering operation or commercial kitchen.

Confidence managing cooking and service independently.

A reliable, practical approach and a willingness to help the team.

Good food safety knowledge and attention to detail.

Comfort using simple digital records and learning new systems.

Availability to work weekends and evening shifts until 7 pm.

The successful applicant will be required to complete the Foundation’s pre‑employment checks, including a criminal history check and verification of Australian working rights.
