Langanis Studio is a busy hair studio in Teneriffe offering cuts, colour, styling and treatments for women, men and children. We’re a friendly, skilled team that cares about outstanding results and a great client experience.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced Hairdresser to join our team full-time. About 34 of your 38 hours each week will be spent on the floor with clients cutting, colouring and styling hair. The remaining hours cover salon administration.

Duties

- Consult with clients to assess hair, scalp and skin condition, head and face shape and the style, colour or treatment they want, and recommend suitable services
- Cut, style and finish women’s, men’s and children’s hair using scissor, clipper, razor and texturising techniques
- Shampoo and condition hair, including scalp massage, and apply hair and scalp treatments
- Blow-dry, finish and style hair with suitable styling products
- Colour hair: full head colour, foils and highlights, toning, grey coverage and creative colour, choosing colour products and developer strengths for each service
- Perform skin allergy tests before colour services and record colour formulas in client records
- Advise clients on hair and scalp care and recommend and sell retail hair care products




- Manage your own appointment book, client records and sales in our booking system (Fresha)
- Keep your work station, tools and equipment clean and disinfected, and follow the salon’s health, safety and hygiene standards, including safe handling of colour and chemical products
- Build and maintain a returning client base
- Demonstrate techniques to, and supervise, apprentices and assistants
- Keep up to date with current trends and techniques through team meetings, in-salon training and ongoing professional development
- Create photo and video content of your work for the studio’s social media
- Salon administration (about 4 hours per week), such as preparing the staff roster, ordering stock and checking end-of-day takings

About you

- Applicant must have at least 1-Year of relevant employment experience
- Applicant will ideally hold relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications
- Strong cutting, colouring and styling skills across women’s, men’s and children’s hair
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Reliable and a team player
- Able to work a roster that includes weekends
