We are seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead the delivery of elite sports medicine services across our AFL program. In this contract role, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding player health, wellbeing and performance.

About the Role

The Chief Medical Officer provides strategic and clinical leadership across the Club's medical program, overseeing player medical care and ensuring the highest standards of sports medicine practice.

Working within a multidisciplinary high-performance team, you will lead medical decision-making, injury and illness management, rehabilitation planning, player health monitoring and match day medical services.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading medical care within an elite AFL environment.

Overseeing injury management, rehabilitation and player health outcomes.

Collaborating with coaches, performance staff and external specialists.

Supporting innovation, research and best-practice sports medicine delivery.

Contributing to the ongoing development of the Club's medical program.

About You

You are an experienced medical practitioner with a passion for elite sport,



strong clinical judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships in a high-performance environment.

You will possess:

A medical degree recognised by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current registration to practise in Australia.

Postgraduate qualifications in Sports and Exercise Medicine, or General Practice with sports medicine training.

Experience in elite sport or other high-performance environments.

Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will hold:

Current Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Victorian Working with Children Check.

National Police Check.

Current Driver Licence.
