Senior Software Engineer – Full Stack Developer | $950 per Day + Super | Sydney

APG Workforce is currently seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer for an exciting opportunity within the NSW Government sector, based in Sydney CBD.
This role will contribute to the design, development and delivery of high-quality digital solutions, working with modern technologies to support critical government services.

The Role

- Location: Sydney CBD
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 16 July 2027
- Pay Rate: $950 per day + superannuation
- Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Sector: NSW Government

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable and reliable software applications.
- Develop and enhance full stack solutions using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot and ReactJS.
- Design, build and maintain APIs to support system integration and functionality.
- Work with JSON files, schemas and relational databases to support application development.
- Collaborate with technical teams and key stakeholders to deliver effective digital solutions.
- Support end-to-end software development, including design, build, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Implement appropriate security controls and ensure solutions align with technical standards and best practices.
- Utilise monitoring and observability tools to identify, troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Contribute technical expertise, recommendations and innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.




- Work collaboratively with platform, release and engineering teams to deliver project outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Minimum 8+ years of experience in software development, ideally within complex enterprise environments.
- Robust experience with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Demonstrated front-end development experience using ReactJS.
- Proven experience in API design, development and integration.
- Experience working with JSON files and schemas.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, New Relic or equivalent.
- Sound understanding of MySQL and relational databases.
- Working knowledge of containers and container platforms.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with Apigee API management.
- Previous experience delivering digital solutions within government or large-scale enterprise environments.
