We're recruiting for a highly established, independent media and creative agency with approximately 65 clients nationally, a 20‑person Sydney team and offices across Australia and offshore.

With over 20 years in business and an impressive staff retention record - 30% of the Sydney team have been with the agency for 10+ years - this is an opportunity to join a business where people genuinely enjoy working.

They're looking for a commercially minded, personable and experienced Senior Account Manager who can build strong client relationships, think strategically and help develop the next generation of Account Service professionals.

Senior Account Manager -Independent Media & Creative Agency

The prospect

You'll manage a portfolio of approximately 5–10 clients while providing leadership and mentoring to five Account Executives within the Sydney team.

This is a hands‑on role combining client management, integrated media strategy, commercial thinking and people development.

You'll work closely with Account Directors and specialists across media, creative and digital, with a genuine pathway to Account Director for someone who performs well.

What you'll be doing

- Manage and grow relationships across a diverse portfolio of clients
- Lead client meetings, presentations and strategic recommendations
- Develop integrated media strategies across traditional and digital channels
- Oversee campaigns from planning and implementation through to optimisation and reporting
- Identify commercial opportunities and challenge briefs with fresh, creative thinking
- Work with media owners and partners to negotiate effective solutions




- Translate campaign data into meaningful insights and recommendations
- Mentor and develop junior Account Service team members, leading by example

Who we're looking for

You may already be a Senior Account Manager within a media or advertising agency, or an experienced Account Manager ready to step up.

What matters most is your understanding of both traditional and digital media, your commercial instincts and your ability to build relationships and lead people.

You'll bring

- Solid experience in media planning, strategy and client account management
- A good working understanding of both offline and digital media channels
- Confidence presenting to clients and managing senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to identify growth opportunities
- Strategic thinking, creativity and attention to detail
- A collaborative, energetic and gregarious personality
- The confidence and maturity to mentor and develop junior colleagues
- A genuine ambition to progress towards Account Director

Salary: $110,000 + superannuation
