National Account Manager Retail | Melbourne or Sydney

We are one of the largest poultry processors in Australia, supplying major brands across QSR/FCD, General Trade & Retail markets.

We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager Retail to join our Commercial team, with the opportunity to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Reporting to the National Business Manager Retail, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of retail customer accounts, maintaining strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities for growth.

This is a hands-on account management role where you’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to support sales performance, coordinate commercial activities and contribute to the continued growth of our retail business.

About the Role

This is a hands-on commercial role responsible for building customer relationships, driving profitable growth and delivering outstanding service across a portfolio of retail accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage and develop relationships with an allocated portfolio of retail customers.
- Support the development and delivery of Joint Business Plans (JBPs).
- Work towards agreed sales, volume and profitability targets.
- Coordinate customer meetings, business reviews and account planning activities.
- Assist with pricing discussions, promotional programs and trading agreements.




- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through product ranging, distribution and new product development.
- Support sales forecasting, demand planning and promotional activities.
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reporting and insights.
- Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance and Product Development to meet customer requirements.

About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, understands the FMCG environment and brings a practical, commercially focused approach to account management.

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience in Account Management, Key Account Management or a similar sales role within FMCG, food manufacturing or retail.
- Strong relationship-building and customer management skills.
- Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of sales targets, margins and profitability.
- Experience supporting customer negotiations, promotional activities and account planning.
- Good analytical, reporting and forecasting skills.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- The ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage competing priorities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related field will be highly regarded.
