Role Description The Physical & Online Language Tutor | My Language Plug role is a contract, hybrid position based in Melbourne, VIC, with a mix of in-person sessions and work-from-home online tutoring. We are currently taking on tutors who teach all langauges. In this role, the tutor will deliver engaging language lessons tailored to the needs, levels, and goals of individual learners, including children, teenagers, and adults. Day-to-day tasks include planning lessons, conducting physical and virtual sessions, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback.

The tutor will use digital tools and learning resources to support interactive online instruction, while maintaining a supportive,



inclusive classroom environment in physical settings. Additional responsibilities may involve communicating regularly with learners and families, adjusting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, and collaborating with the My Language Plug team to uphold quality standards and a positive learner experience.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Tutoring and Teaching skills, with experience supporting learners of different ages and proficiency levels.
- Candidates should possess Online Tutoring skills, including comfort with virtual classroom platforms and digital learning tools.
- Candidates should possess English Teaching skills or expertise in at least one target language, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and accurately.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including active listening, transparent verbal and written communication, and cultural sensitivity.
- Relevant teaching certifications, tutoring experience, or language qualifications are beneficial (e.g., TESOL/TEFL for English, or equivalent language teaching credentials).
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Melbourne, VIC, manage schedules independently, and adapt lesson plans for both in-person and online environments.
- Demonstrated passion for language learning, patience, and a commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning spaces.
