About The Role

As a Mid-Weight PHP Developer, you will work on a major project as a contractor, developing and supporting web application functionality using PHP, MySQL and JSP. Proven JSP experience is essential. Qualifications

- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AJAX and Bootstrap.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern.
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.
- Familiarity with third-party API integration and RESTful web services.
- Exposure to Backbone and Angular, with the ability to work effectively alongside front-end technologies.
- Familiarity with build and development tools such as Bower, Grunt and Yeoman.
- Exposure to enterprise content management systems is preferred, including platforms such as Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), SDL or Interwoven.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas clearly and contribute to client presentations.
- A team-oriented, proactive approach, with the confidence to organise work, take responsibility and provide constructive input.

Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance and maintain application functionality using PHP,

MySQL and JSP.
- Contribute to the delivery of project features in line with agreed requirements, priorities and timelines.
- Work closely with developers and UX designers to coordinate workflows and implement user-focused solutions.
- Build and support front-end functionality using relevant web technologies where required.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs, applying appropriate RESTful service practices.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum activities, including planning, progress discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
- Review work, identify defects and support testing and refinement to help maintain quality.
- Communicate progress, technical considerations and potential delivery risks to the project team.

Benefits This contract offers the opportunity to contribute to a major digital project within a creative business in Sydney’s CBD. You will work alongside development and UX professionals, apply a broad range of web technologies and take meaningful ownership of project work. The role also provides the chance to strengthen your experience with PHP, JSP, integrations and collaborative delivery in a multidisciplinary environment. Contract terms and project expectations will be discussed during the recruitment process.
