About The Company

Softtest Pays Pty Ltd is supporting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), the Australian Government agency responsible for implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The NDIA is undertaking significant work to deliver innovative, fit-for-need information and communication technology solutions that support the Scheme and the people who rely on it. This opportunity is within the Digital team, specifically the Scheme CRM Platforms Branch, where technology contributes to accessible, effective services for Australians with disability.

About The Role

Softtest Pays Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to contribute to the NDIA’s CRM platform development and delivery work. In this role, you will build and enhance Salesforce solutions, with a focus on the Salesforce Vlocity platform and technologies including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), OmniScripts, FlexCards, Integration Procedures and DataRaptors. You will also work on REST API services, integrations, source control and Agile delivery practices.

The role includes establishing and developing AI-assisted development capabilities using Claude Code in the Salesforce workplace. You will apply sound software engineering practices while exploring how AI-supported workflows can contribute to effective development. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical and delivery colleagues and use tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub, Atlassian Jira and Visual Studio Code.

Australian citizens residing in Australia are the only candidates eligible to respond to this opportunity.

Qualifications

Candidates should have three to five years of hands-on Salesforce Vlocity development experience, particularly with Apex, LWC, OmniScripts, FlexCards, Integration Procedures and DataRaptors. You should demonstrate knowledge of object-oriented programming, software frameworks and design patterns, and practical experience with source control, package-based development and DevOps practices.

Experience building integrations, including REST APIs and Salesforce Platform Events, is required. Familiarity with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Community Cloud implementations is also expected, along with an understanding of Salesforce governor limits. Experience using GitLab or similar tools, Jira, Bitbucket and VS Code will be valuable. An interest in accessible design and development, and a willingness to consider accessibility in technical decisions, will be highly regarded.

Applicants must provide a separate response to each essential criterion specified for this opportunity. Each criterion response is limited to 3,000 characters. Responses should clearly describe relevant experience and demonstrate how it meets the stated requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop, configure and maintain Salesforce Vlocity solutions using the relevant platform technologies.

Build and support REST API services and other integrations, including work with Platform Events where appropriate. Apply object-oriented principles, established frameworks and design patterns to produce maintainable solutions.

Establish and develop AI-assisted Salesforce development capabilities using Claude Code, applying appropriate engineering judgement and development practices. Use source control tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket or GitHub and contribute to package-based development and DevOps workflows. Work with Atlassian Jira and Agile delivery tool sets to support planning, tracking and collaboration.

Consider accessibility when designing and implementing solutions, and work constructively with colleagues across the Digital team.

Benefits

Contribute to technology programs supporting a significant national scheme and its services for people with disability. This role offers the opportunity to apply Salesforce expertise across a broad CRM environment, work with contemporary development and integration tools, and contribute to emerging AI-assisted development practices. You will collaborate with a digital delivery team and help build solutions where reliability, accessibility and fit-for-need outcomes matter.

Equal Opportunity

Softtest Pays Pty Ltd and the NDIA value inclusive, respectful workplaces. Applicants are assessed on their skills, experience and suitability for the role. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to apply. Please note that this opportunity is limited to Australian citizens residing in Australia.
