About the Role

Alinea International is seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager to lead our consulting business development and proposal management activities.

Working closely with the Co-CEO and technical consulting teams, you will drive the identification, assessment, coordination and submission of high-quality consulting and project opportunities. This is a strategic and hands-on role that combines pipeline management,



proposal leadership, stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement to support sustainable business growth.

You will play a critical role in helping Alinea secure new work by ensuring proposals are compelling, compliant, professionally presented and submitted on time.

What You’ll be doing

- Managing a diverse pipeline of consulting and project opportunities.
- Leading bid/no-bid assessments and supporting strategic business development decisions.
- Coordinating end-to-end proposal development from opportunity identification through to submission.
- Writing, reviewing and editing proposal content to ensure it is clear, persuasive and client-focused.
- Managing proposal compliance, timelines, submissions and quality assurance processes.
- Partnering with consultants and technical experts to develop winning proposal responses.
- Coordinating proposal teams, external partners and consultant inputs.
- Providing oversight of proposal budgets, pricing inputs and commercial considerations.
- Managing and developing the Business Development Coordinator.
- Maintaining proposal resources, capability statements, CVs and business development tools.
- Tracking proposal outcomes,



analysing win rates and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and partners to support future opportunities.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

- 5+ years' experience in business development, proposal management, consulting support or a similar role.
- Proven experience in business development, proposal management, bids/tenders or consulting support.
- Strong proposal writing, editing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to assess and prioritise opportunities.
- A proactive, cooperative and solutions-focused approach.

Highly Regarded:

- Experience in consulting, professional services, international development or public policy environments.
- Experience with DFAT, government, donor-funded, university or NGO opportunities.
- Understanding of procurement processes, including EOIs, RFQs and RFTs.
- Experience managing proposal pipelines and business development systems.
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members.
