Service CoordinatorPaget, Mackay · Mackay Fluid Power

$80,000 to $90,000 + super · Full time, 40-hour week The jobEvery service job at Mackay Fluid Power runs across one desk. A cylinder comes in off a dragline, a pump fails at a coal handling plant, a site wants a fitter on Tuesday. Someone has to open the job, get the quote out, line up the parts, book the work and make sure the paperwork is right before it goes to invoice.

That's this role.

When this desk runs well, the fitters stay on the tools, customers know exactly where their job is, and nothing sits finished but unbilled. We want one person who owns the service job from the first phone call to the day it's ready to invoice, and who keeps AroFlo honest along the way.

Who we areMackay Fluid Power repairs, rebuilds and supplies hydraulic, lubrication and automation equipment from our workshop in Paget and on site across the Bowen Basin. Most of our customers are coal mines and the contractors who keep them running. We distribute Banlaw, Lincoln, SKF, Graco, Edmo, SMC, Stauff, Hannay Reels and Norgren, and we're certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

We don't try to be the cheapest. We get the call when something has failed, it matters, and someone needs it diagnosed properly and turned around fast. The Service Coordinator is a big part of how quick that turnaround really is.

We're part of The Atomus Group, alongside Metropolitan Hydraulic Services in Sydney and APT Training.

What you'd actually be doing

- Opening every workshop and field service job in AroFlo with the customer, site, contact, equipment and PO details right the first time.
- Turning the Service Lead's assessment into a quote, getting it reviewed and getting it to the customer within two to three working days.

- Booking field work with the Service Lead and making sure inductions, site access and permits are sorted before anyone leaves the yard.
- Working the service reports every week (quotes in progress, quotes pending approval, expired quotes, open tasks and tasks due this month) and chasing whatever is stuck.
- Ordering service parts through our ERP system, with the supplier quote attached to the job.
- Checking job cards, test sheets, photos and timesheets before a job closes.
- Chasing POs on finished work and getting jobs to Ready to Invoice within two working days.

You price to our supplier pricing framework. Discounts and changes to scope go to the Operations Manager. You won't be out selling. You'll be the person customers and fitters rely on to know where every job is up to.

What you'd needOn day one

- Experience coordinating service, maintenance or workshop jobs in an industrial, mining or mechanical business.
- Comfort in a job management system (AroFlo, SAP, Pronto, MEX or similar) and Excel.
- A real eye for detail. A job isn't finished until the records are.
- The confidence to chase a fitter, a supplier or a site contact without it turning into a fight.

Would help

- A hydraulics or fluid power background, or time on the tools.
- Experience with mining customers' PO and supplier portals, such as SAP Ariba.
- Time in an ISO certified business.

We'll teach you AroFlo, our pricing, and the hydraulics.

Our Service Lead and Operations Manager work alongside this role every day. We'd rather have someone organised who learns the product than someone who knows the product and can't keep a schedule.

What's in it for you

- $80,000 to $90,000 base plus superannuation, depending on experience.
- A 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, at our Paget workshop.
- A role with clear edges. Your responsibilities and measures are written down and agreed before you start.
- A short line to the decision maker. You report to the Operations Manager in Mackay, so when something needs deciding it gets decided.
- A group that owns its own training business, so development is real.

What's hard about itMining doesn't book ahead. Breakdowns land on top of planned work, and the schedule you built on Monday morning will often be wrong by lunch. Customers' PO systems are slow and particular, and a missing PO number can hold a finished job for weeks.

You'll also be the one holding fitters to their paperwork when they'd rather be on the next job. And the workshop has a ceiling, so part of this role is telling people honestly when we can fit them in.

If that sounds like a problem you'd enjoy fixing, you're the person we're describing.

How to applySend your CV and a short note to [email protected]. No formal cover letter needed.

Tell us about a week when the schedule fell apart. What broke, what you moved, and what still got out the door on time.

That answer tells us more than the rest of the application. Applications are reviewed as they arrive, and everyone who applies gets a response.
