Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnie, TAS, focused on the manufacturing and installation of signage. The role involves setting up and operating sign making equipment, preparing materials, and assisting with the fabrication of a wide range of signs. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting job specifications and design files, assembling signage components, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout production.

The position also includes loading signs and equipment, traveling to client sites, and installing signage safely and accurately, using appropriate tools and fixings. The team member will help maintain a clean and safe workshop, perform basic equipment maintenance, and collaborate closely with designers, project managers,



and other technicians to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

- Experience in sign manufacturing, fabrication, or a related trade (e.g., carpentry, metalwork, shopfitting).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and design specifications.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic workshop equipment used in sign production and installation.
- Understanding of protected work practices, including working at heights and manual handling; commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Basic knowledge of materials commonly used in signage (e.g., metals, plastics, vinyl, lighting) and their appropriate handling.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift, carry, and install signs of varying sizes under supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow instructions and established processes.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused approach on-site and in the workshop.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for installations.
- Prior experience in the signage industry or a relevant apprenticeship/certification is advantageous but not essential.
