Technical Business Analyst – Data & BI

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst (Data & BI) to support the Data Estate Discovery & Classification Project. The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to assess, discover, document and classify the organisation's existing data estate, ensuring data assets are understood, mapped and appropriately categorised.

Key Responsibilities





- Conduct discovery and assessment of existing data assets across the organisation.
- Identify, document and classify data sources, databases, data platforms and BI environments.
- Work closely with data engineers, architects, BI teams and business stakeholders.
- Analyse data flows, dependencies, data lineage and integration points.
- Gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Develop data catalogues, inventories, process maps and classification documentation.
- Identify data quality, governance, security and compliance considerations.
- Support workshops, stakeholder engagement and project reporting.

Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst in Data & BI environments.
- Solid understanding of databases, data warehouses and data lakes.
- Experience with data discovery, data mapping and data classification.
- Understanding of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of SQL and data analysis.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management and data lineage.
- Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills.
