The key duties of the position include:

The Role

Help shape one of Defence's largest enterprise transformations. As the EL 1 Executive Officer, you will work at the centre of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Division, connecting senior leaders, delivery teams and stakeholders so that priorities are clear, decisions are well informed and agreed outcomes are delivered. This is a visible and influential role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, anticipating what leaders need and turning strategic direction into coordinated action.

You will:

- Lead the coordination of ERP leadership forums, executive meetings and decision-making processes.
- Deliver explicit, timely and high-quality briefs, submissions, correspondence and reporting for senior leaders.
- Maintain oversight of decisions, actions and priorities, and drive follow-through across the Division.
- Provide practical, risk-informed advice on governance, organisational management and program delivery.
- Coordinate sensitive and time-critical executive, ministerial and corporate tasking.
- Support program planning, priority-setting and performance reporting, helping leaders maintain focus on the outcomes that matter.
- Support risk, assurance and compliance activities, including coordinating responses to reviews and monitoring agreed actions.
- Build trusted relationships across Defence Groups, Services, enabling functions and delivery partners.
- Identify and implement improvements to governance, executive workflows and organisational performance.

You will be trusted to exercise sound judgement, work with a high degree of independence and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment. In return, the role offers broad exposure to senior decision-making, complex program delivery and enterprise-wide reform,

with a genuine opportunity to influence how the ERP Division operates and succeeds.

About our Team

The ERP Program is transforming how Defence manages its people, finance, logistics and other core business processes. By delivering integrated, modern and data-driven capabilities, the Program will improve access to information, strengthen decision-making and support Defence's mission.

The Executive Officer is part of the ERP Executive Office and works closely with the leadership team, Program directors and key partners. The Executive Office is the Division’s central coordination point for governance, planning, reporting and executive business. This role offers a rare combination of strategic exposure and practical impact.

You will gain insight into senior decision-making, contribute to enterprise-wide outcomes and help a major transformation program work more effectively. If the role interests you and you can demonstrate the core capabilities, we encourage you to apply even if your experience does not align with every desirable attribute.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an accomplished and adaptable EL 1 who can operate confidently with senior stakeholders and deliver through others.

You will demonstrate:

- Strong governance, executive coordination and business management capability.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills,

with the ability to translate complex issues into clear advice for senior audiences.
- A proven ability to build trust, influence outcomes and maintain productive relationships across organisational boundaries.
- Sound judgement and analytical skills, including the ability to identify emerging issues and provide practical, risk-informed options.
- The ability to prioritise, remain composed under pressure and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Initiative and independence, balanced with a collaborative and service-focused approach.
- Experience in governance, performance reporting, program coordination or organisational management.
- Experience in a major program or transformation environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Eligibility

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
