The Client
Our client is an established transport and logistics operation specialising in the movement of general, oversized and specialised freight. With a strong focus on safety, efficiency and innovation, they operate a busy distribution facility supported by contemporary technology, established processes and a close-knit team environment.

About the Role
As a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring freight is loaded, unloaded and handled safely and efficiently across a busy transport operation.
Working as part of a team of approximately 15 forklift operators, you will help manage the daily movement of freight across 15 B-doubles and 45 local PUD (Pick Up and Delivery) runs.
This is a hands-on role involving a diverse range of freight, including 3PL freight, oversized and irregularly shaped items, and lengths of up to 6 metres.
The operation uses advanced AI-assisted technology to photograph and assess every load, helping ensure safe loading practices and axle weight requirements are maintained.
You won't be working alone! Each forklift operator is paired with their own dedicated strapper, meaning you'll always work as part of a two-person team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

- Loading and unloading B-doubles, semi-trailers, rigids and containers.
- Handling general, oversized, blended and long-length freight. (up to 6 metres long)
- RF scanning pallets and freight.
- Loading and unloading mezzanine floor trailers, line-haul trailers and local delivery vehicles.




- Performing cross-dock duties and moving stock throughout the warehouse.
- Moving pallets and freight to and from designated pick locations.
- Completing receiving and despatch duties.
- Staging goods for loading and putaway.
- General manual handling duties.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current and valid LF Forklift Licence.
- Previous forklift operating experience in transport or logistics.
- Strong counterbalance forklift experience (Hyster experience advantageous).
- An understanding of load restraint and axle weight management.
- RF scanning experience.
- Experience loading and unloading B-doubles, semi-trailers, rigids and containers.
- Experience handling a variety of freight, including oversized, irregularly shaped, long-length, general and non-palletised freight.
- The ability to manually handle freight weighing up to 20kg.
- High Reach forklift experience (advantageous for picking and putaway duties).
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and working effectively within a team.
