Eight Recruitment
Sydney
Already have your MT Level 2 and keen to put it to work somewhere recent? Join an established inspection and testing business where you’ll carry out NDT across a range of equipment, sites and industries, helping clients identify defects and understand the condition of their assets. There’s also funding for further NDT qualifications, with salary increases linked to additional tickets, giving you a clear reason to keep building your skills.
YOUR NEW JOB
You will spend most days visiting client sites across Sydney, carrying out testing, assessing results and preparing reports for clients across a range of industries. You will head straight to site from home, with one day per fortnight in the office and approximately one week away every 5 weeks for interstate or occasional overseas work. The role also involves reasonable scheduled or ad hoc overtime.
- Carry out magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT) and ultrasonic testing (UT) on relevant equipment and components, using approved procedures and acceptance criteria within your certification scope and employer authorisation.
- Interpret and evaluate test indications, record findings and prepare clear, accurate inspection reports
- Inspect pressure equipment where competent and authorised,
or assist experienced inspectors while developing this capability.
- Explain findings to clients, escalate concerns and provide recommendations within the scope of the role.
- Look after testing equipment, complete required checks and maintain calibration status and safe working practices.
ABOUT YOU
You take pride in doing a job properly, bring a strong work ethic to site and are keen to keep learning. Your attitude and willingness to take on further training matter just as much as the qualifications and experience you bring. You will need a working knowledge of the relevant Australian Standards for pressure equipment. Ideally, you also bring:
- Level 2 certification to ISO 9712 in ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT) and dye penetrant testing (PT), through AINDT or PCN.
- Industry experience inspecting pressure equipment.
- A Confined Space Entry Training Certificate.
- AICIP or API 510 qualifications will be highly regarded.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
- Base salary from $95K - $100K + Super (depending on experience)
- Overtime typically $15K – $30K+ per year
- Company car (available for personal use)
