We are looking for an experienced and capable Assistant Manager to work alongside the Station Manager at Rocklands Station, near Camooweal on the Queensland–Northern Territory border.

This 665,000-hectare property is a major cattle breeding hub for Paraway, running crossbred cattle across Barkly Downs country. With significant scale, up-to-date yards and access to key transport routes, Rocklands is a cornerstone of Paraway’s northern operations. The Rocklands compound includes comfortable living quarters, a staff kitchen and recreation club and horse riding facilities. At Rocklands, staff enjoy spending their days off attending campdrafts and social events across the Barkly, and skiing and swimming in the Georgina River.

This role is integral to the day-to-day management of the property, supporting the Station Manager to ensure the continued success of the wider property performance. Key responsibilities within the role include:

- A proactive and organised approach, balancing day-to-day operational needs with long-term planning and financial decisions aligned to the approved budget




- Strong safety leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate and build a positive team culture
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and treatments
- Operate and maintain plant, machinery and vehicles safely and effectively and have a good level of fencing experience
- High level maintenance of plant and equipment and water infrastructure

- Hands-on experience in livestock management

- A commitment to animal welfare, safety standards, and sustainable land management practices.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, contractors, suppliers, key consultants

- Support the Station Manager with planning, communication and team development

- Contribute to a positive, respectful team culture and set the standards for professional conduct
