Site Manager
Pirotta Services Commercial | Full-Time | Site-based across Melbourne
What's In It For You
You won't just deliver projects, you'll be the reason clients come back. At PSC, the Site Manager is the face of the company on every job. When you build trust with a client, that relationship turns into the next project. Your reputation becomes our reputation.
• Autonomy to run your sites your way. Within quality standards, you call the shots on how
work gets done
• Direct impact on company growth: great client relationships you build lead to repeat work and larger projects
• Competitive salary plus vehicle allowance
• Work with a company investing in growth. More projects, better projects, and you'll be part of making that happen
• Leadership that backs you up and develops you, not micromanagement
What This Role Actually Is
This is the role for a carpenter who's ready to lead. You'll run commercial fitout and construction projects under $5M, coordinating trades, managing quality, and being the person the client trusts to get things done right. A outstanding Site Manager at PSC doesn't just hit deadlines, they make clients feel like they're in safe hands.
What You'll Own
• Project delivery: on time, on cost, on quality. That's the job.
• Site operations: daily coordination, trade sequencing, material management, quality checks
• Client relationships: professional communication, problem-solving, making clients feel
confident in PSC
• Trade supervision: subcontractor quality, program adherence, defect prevention before
handover
• Safety: site compliance, SWMS, inductions, OHS portal management
How You'll Know You're Winning
• Program milestones met or exceeded
• Projects delivered within budget
• Minimal defects at practical completion. Your quality standards prevent rework
• Clients who ask for you on their next project
• Zero serious safety incidents
What You Bring
• Carpentry background. Trade-qualified preferred, you've done the work yourself
• Plan reading and material takeoffs (carpentry, plastering, doors/hardware)
• Commercial construction site management experience
• Procore experience (or similar PM software)
• Track record of delivering projects on time and budget
• White Card and current driver's license
This Role Probably Isn't For You If...
• You see site management as 'just supervision' rather than client relationship building
• You're not comfortable with some Saturday work when project timelines require it
• You prefer a fixed office location rather than being out on sites across Melbourne
• You wait for problems to be reported rather than spotting them yourself
Note: This role requires flexibility including some Saturday work when project timelines require it.
How To Apply
We read every application, but we're looking for people who want this role, not just any role.
Along with your CV, please include 1-2 paragraphs answering this question:
"Describe a project where something went wrong: a subbie underperformed, materials
were delayed, or a client changed scope mid-stream. What did you do, how did you
protect the outcome, and what did you learn?"
Applications without a response to this question will not be reviewed.
If you take pride in quality delivery and know that the best marketing is a job well done, let's talk.
