Allocator - Rail Replacement & Special Services

Are you an experienced transport operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting? Do you enjoy solving problems, coordinating people and resources, and ensuring services run safely and efficiently?

We are seeking a Rail Replacement & Special Services Allocator to join our Operational Support Group (OSG). This role is responsible for coordinating rail replacement services, special event transport operations and planned service disruptions across our network.

Working closely with depots, allocators, the Operations Control Centre (OCC), Workforce Planning and key external stakeholders, you will play a critical role in ensuring services are delivered safely, reliably and in line with operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinating rail replacement and special event bus services.

• Allocating vehicles and operational resources to meet service requirements.

• Liaising with depots, OCC and support teams to ensure services operate as planned.

• Monitoring live operations during disruptions, planned works and special events.

• Escalating operational risks, incidents and service issues promptly.

• Supporting safety, compliance and incident management activities.

• Assisting with customer information and operational communications.

• Supporting event planning, operational readiness and post-event reviews.

• Maintaining accurate records, reporting, costing and invoicing information.

About You

You are a calm and capable operational professional who can think on your feet,



communicate effectively and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience in transport operations, service coordination, scheduling, control room environments or depot operations.

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a live operational environment.

• The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

• A current NSW Driver Licence.

• Availability to work after-hours, weekends and public holidays when operational requirements demand.

Highly Regarded

• Experience within bus, rail or public transport operations.

• Rail replacement or special event transport experience.

• Operations Control Centre (OCC) experience.

• Knowledge of incident management and service recovery processes.

• Experience working with large-scale transport networks or service delivery environments.
